THOMPSON HOLDINGS FOUNDATION SPONSORS SCHOLARSHIP
MOBILE, AL -- The Thompson Holdings Foundation is offering a $1000 annual scholarship renewable for up to four years to a student from Mobile or Baldwin Counties who plans to major in a technical field of study.
The selection is based on financial need, scholastic achievement, character, leadership qualities, community involvement, and personal development. The scholarship will be presented in time for the fall term of 2009.
To be eligible, a student must:
- be a high school senior in public, private or home school
- be a resident of Mobile or Baldwin County, Alabama
- have been accepted at an accredited four-year university
- have a minimum “B” high school average
- have a minimum score of 21 on the ACT
- plan to major in engineering, architecture, science, or other technical field
The Thompson Holdings Foundation instituted its scholarship program to encourage and assist talented young people who are interested in the technical specialties that are employed by the Thompson Holdings companies.
Announcements of the scholarship are being sent to public and private high schools in the area. Applications are due by April 30, 2009. For more information, contact school counselors or Cindy Roton at Thompson Holdings, (251) 666-2443.
The Thompson Holdings Foundation was founded in 2004 to support efforts to improve the quality of life in the communities served by the companies of Thompson Holdings, Inc., Thompson Engineering and the Watermark Design Group.
